What is Help to Buy?
Help to Buy was introduced by the Government in 2013 and has enabled new build properties to become more affordable allowing many people to get a foot on the property ladder.
The scheme provides an interest free loan of up to 20% of the purchase price towards your deposit. The loan is interest free for the first five years after which you must start paying off the interest on the loan.
Help to Buy Valuations
Target (who have been appointed by the Homes and Communities Agency to manage the Help to Buy scheme) require you to get an independent Help to Buy valuation from a RICS registered valuer. The Help to Buy valuation will determine the current market value of your property and therefore calculate the amount you must repay.
Please note: Your Help to Buy valuation will only be valid for 3 months.
What will I receive?
If you instruct us to complete your Help to Buy Valuation, we will arrange access with you for a suitable date and time. One of our qualified RICS Registered Valuers will carry out a visual inspection of the property which usually takes around 30 to 40 minutes depending on the size of the property.
Your valuation report will be compliant with the requirements of Target HCA and will be sent to you within 3 business days following the date of the inspection.
If you need any further advice, one of our qualified valuers will be happy to speak to you before or after your Help to Buy valuation.
